Last Day of School

Gavin and Ms. Amanda

Tuesday was Gavin's last day of school. They had a picnic for lunch, and parents were allowed to come join them. It was so much fun to watch Gavin with his little friends.
Ms. Amanda gave the kids water guns. They had a great time playing with them and shooting each other.
Trey, Gavin and Mary El. Anytime Gavin talked about his friends at school, these were the names mentioned most often.
Sweet friends
Mary El wanted to sit with us during the picnic. She is such a cutie!

Pretty girl and swimming

Such a pretty happy girl
Gavin had his final swim lesson this week. He can actually float on his back and somewhat do the back stroke. And he can also jump in and "swim" a few feet to the side of the pool. Mommy and Daddy are so proud!
Addison enjoys watching Gavin swim and cheering for him.

The first 2 videos are Gavin swimming. The second 2 videos are Addison "talking" to some girls that were at the pool.

Gavin's 3 year old stats

We didn't go to the doctor for Gavin's 3 year old check-up until the end of April. We kept going in for sick visits, and had to postpone his well child visit. Anyway, he weighed in at 32 lbs 2 oz (50%) and was 38 inches tall (75%). Not sure where that height comes from.

The final game...

Gavin's soccer team played their final game of the season last Saturday. It was fun to see how much they had improved from the first game.
Getting their awards and trophies after the game.
Gavin was so excited about his trophy and medal.
Coach Amy made certificates for each of the players. Gavin got MVP. When Amy asked him if he knew what MVP meant, he immediately said "yes." He of course did not know what it meant, but his confidence was inspiring!

Thanks to all our friends and family that came out and supported Gavin throughout the season.

10 months already??

It is so hard to imagine that in less than 2 months, my baby will be a year old. Where has the time gone? I guess time really does fly when you are having fun. Addison is such a happy baby, even when she doesn't feel great. I feel like we spent the entire winter/spring visiting the pediatrician's office. But she just had ear tubes put in, so hopefully that will keep the ear infections to a minimum.
Addison weighed 17 lbs 10 oz at her last doctor's visit. She now has 5 (going on 6) teeth. Poor thing cut 3 of them in one week. Her new crawling technique cracks me up. Since she has been wearing clothes that leave her legs bare, she crawls on her feet, not her knees. She really made her MDO teachers laugh the first time they saw it. I am convinced that she will be walking before her first birthday. She can stand for a few seconds by herself, but hasn't tried taking any steps yet. But I know that big milestone is just around the corner.
Addison likes to listen to music and dance right now, especially if her big brother is dancing with her. Her baby doll is her favorite toy. She can actually almost say "baby", and she definitely recognizes the meaning of several different words. She loves to wave bye-bye, and often does it with both hands. It is amazing to see the new things she learns on a daily basis. She loves her Daddy and big brother, but is still very much a Mommy's girl. She will sometimes chose Aunt Yaya over Mommy, which Yaya loves of course! I'm sure that will be even more so after they spend the summer together.
I can't believe how much she has grown in the past 10 months. We love you baby girl!
It's getting harder to get the monthly chair photo.
Silly girl eating a french fry.
She thought she was so funny! Her smile and laughter light up my day.
This is an old picture that I just downloaded from my phone. Such a sweet face!

Mother's Day 2010

I had a very nice Mother's Day this year. We traveled to Oneonta to visit Grandma Holden for the afternoon. It was a great way to spend the day with my kids, my mom, grandma and sister.

Aunt Yaya with the kiddos.
I've decided that they should have an Aunt's Day. My children are very blessed to have wonderful aunts and I thank God for each of them.

Gavin started doing jumping jacks one night. Needless to say, we found his technique very amusing. He was so proud of himself.

Addison at 9 months old

I'm a little late in posting, but wanted to get Addison's 9 month pictures and information on here. Addison is crawling and is into everything. She is pulling up and just starting to cruise on furniture. At her 9 month check-up, she weighed 17 lbs 9 oz (25%) and her height was 26 1/4 inches (15%). She continues to be a petite little lady!

The following video is big girl enjoying a strawberry one day. Apparently the 2nd bite was a little tart. She wouldn't eat the small pieces I cute up for her, she wanted the whole thing. This is just one sign of her growing independence.
