Just like brother

It's funny to me how you can already see similarities in Gavin and Addison. The top picture is Gavin at 4 months old. He never really cared for a pacifier and soothed himself to sleep by sucking his thumb. The picture below is Addison at almost 3 months old. Like her brother, she seems to prefer her thumb over a pacifier when she is sleeping. I can't wait to see what other similarities develop over the years. If Addison talks as much as her brother, it will never be quiet around here! I thank God everyday for blessing me with my wonderful children. I am one lucky Mommy!

First visit to the dentist

Gavin had his first dental exam this week. He did pretty good. You might notice that he is sitting in my lap. He didn't want to sit in the big chair by himself, but was ok with it while sitting with me. He didn't want them to use the polisher on his teeth, but did agree to let Dr. Amy brush his teeth with a toothbrush and the special grape toothpaste. I was a little nervous about how he would act, but I was pleasantly surprised. After his exam, they took his picture with the alligator to put on their wall.

The Magic Chair

So Addison hasn't been too impressed with the swing or bouncy seat we already owned. We went to Jaime and Jeff's about a week ago to visit with the Hopkins family. I put Addison down in Cole's rocker, and she loved it. At one point, Aunt Becky got her out of it, and Addison cried until Becky sat her back in the chair. Needless to say, I went to Babies R Us the next day and purchased one! And I'm happy to say that Addison loves her new seat. This "magic chair" has allowed Mommy and Daddy to enjoy dinner without having to rush or hold her while we are eating. I guess Little Miss just wanted something new that wasn't a hand-me-down from big brother!

My Little Monkey

Gavin decided last week that he needed to wear his monkey costume from Halloween last year. It was a bit small, but he enjoyed it anyway. In the picture below, he informed me that I could take his picture in his monkey suit while he was eating a grape. I guess he chose a grape, since he doesn't really like bananas.

2 months old

It is so hard to believe that Addison is already 2 months old. We went to the doctor last week for her 2 month check-up. She was 21 inches long and weighed 9 lbs 14 1/2 oz. She is smiling and cooing. Luckily for Mommy, she usually sleeps 7-9 hours at night. Addison is a true blessing and makes our family complete.

Beach Trip with Gigi and Papu

We spent this past weekend at the beach with Gigi, Papu and Aunt Yaya. The weather was great, even when it was rainy. That was just a good excuse to take a nap! We had a wonderful and relaxing time. Gavin loved playing in the sand, splashing in the ocean and playing in the pool. Addison spent a lot of time indoors "bonding" with Papu and Gigi, but she also enjoyed a little bit of time seaside resting in the shade. Thank you Gigi and Papu for a wonderful vacation.
